Envision your ideal target audience as a particular persona that embodies all the qualities that make them a good customer for your product or service. The “building blocks” of that persona are what Tapcast refers to as the essential dimensions of that audience.
On an Audience MapTM map, these individual dimensions are represented by the rows of the map. Each dimension is comprised of a Facebook demographic category (e.g. Single or Parents with toddlers) or a Facebook interest (e.g. Folk music or Plus-size clothing) or a group of Facebook interests (curated by Tapcast).
The dimensions are grouped into larger dimension groups. Each dimension group captures the range or spectrum (e.g. Relationship Status or Musical Interest) represented by the various dimensions encompassed within it. The dimension groups are further organized into panels.
Dimensionalizing your audiences, i.e. understanding and breaking them down into their essential dimensions, is the key to applying a sharper focus to your marketing efforts.
