If you would like to use Tapcast to analyze your audience in different geographies but your data doesn’t contain location information (and hence can’t be segmented by geography), consider this workaround.
Note: If your data contains location information and can be segmented geographically, you can proceed with the steps to analyze your audiences geographically.
1. Create a Lookalike in Facebook using the data you have
Follow Facebook’s instructions to create the Custom audience.
Follow Facebook’s instructions to create the Lookalike audience based on the Custom audience.
2. Create a new audience on Tapcast for the first geographic area you’d like to explore
Add the Lookalike audience you just created to the targeting spec by selecting it from the dropdown list of Facebook audiences.
Apply your Location targeting (Cities, ZIP codes, or States).
Save and clearly name your audience.
3. Run ads with Lookalike audience
It is important that no other ads are run during this period so as to ensure that all results obtained during that period can be attributed to this geographically-targeted ad set.
The longer you are able to run this ad set and the more results you can get, the better.
Repeat this process for each geographic area you wish to test.
Again, make sure to run ads for only one geography at a time so that you can accurately attribute results. You can now segment data geographically, because each period of time is associated with a separate geographic target. Use these datasets to analyze your audiences geographically with Tapcast.
